Clean bill of health for Jo's expenses5.58.58pm GMT Thu 4th Feb 2010 Jo has welcomed the publication of Sir Thomas Legg's audit of MPs' second home expenses, but said the priority now must be reform of the system. The report, published today, recommended that 390 current and former MPs pay back a total of £1.1 million in respect of claims made against their second home allowances from 2004 to 2008. The review concluded that there were no issues with Jo Swinson's expenses and she has not been asked to repay any money. Commenting, Jo said: "I welcome the publication of Sir Thomas Legg's report and I am pleased that he has found that my expenses are all in order, however the important thing now is to press on and reform the expenses system. "The abuses of MPs' expenses were uncovered nine whole months ago. Instead of having review after review, the House of Commons must take action now to clean up the system. Sir Christopher Kelly has made an excellent set of recommendations for reform, and they should be implemented in full, as soon as possible, so that we can begin to restore faith in our political institutions."
