High turnout for “PlaceCheck” shows huge community interest in town centre plans - Jo

January 20, 2012 10:53 AM

On Saturday afternoon Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire attended the PlaceCheck set up by the Bishopbriggs Community Champions. More than 100 people came along and contributed a range of thoughts, ideas and concerns surrounding the development plans for the town centre, including what they currently like and dislike about the town centre area.

Commenting, Jo said:

"It was good to hear the different opinions from constituents in advance of my meeting with Richard Bakes, Morrsions' Development Executive on Friday. It will be exciting to see the work of the architects the local champions and town team have employed to take forward the community's views.

"Last week in Westminster I also took the opportunity to speak to one of the Morrisons Directors at a business event. I left them in no doubt of the strength of feeling of the local community about the Bishopbriggs plans."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.

    • If you agree, Jo Swinson, the Liberal Democrats, and their elected representatives may use the information you provide to contact you about issues you may find of interest. Some of the contacts may be automated. You can opt out of these contacts at any time by contacting us.
