Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire has called on the SNP to adhere to its own manifesto and hold a referendum with a simple yes-no question to decide Scotland's future in the union.
Commenting, Jo said:
"The Coalition Government is doing all it can to make sure the referendum is legal so that the voice of the Scottish people can be heard. No one wants a long drawn out court battle. Instead we need a clear, conclusive result that will allow Scotland to move forward."

Notes to Editors
Jo Swinson: The SNP at Holyrood has a political mandate to hold a referendum on independence, so I welcome by my right hon. Friend's plans to devolve the powers so that it can be held legally and fairly, but does he agree that page 28 of the SNP manifesto clearly shows that the mandate is for a simple yes-no question, so that there is no confusion, no legal chaos, just a decisive result, decided by the voters, not the courts?
