Local venue vital for Milngavie inquiry - Jo

January 19, 2011 11:16 AM

Local MP Jo has expressed disappointment that the location of the Tesco Milngavie hearing and inquiry has been moved to Bearsden.

The appeal's location was recently confirmed as Kessington Hall in Bearsden, despite a booking for Milngavie Town Hall having been made.

Commenting, Jo said:

"It is very disappointing if the Tesco Milngavie inquiry cannot take place in Milngavie. A local venue is vitally important to ensure the community can come along to hear the appeal and that the process is seen to be open and transparent.

"I hope that Council officials will investigate why the booking made at Milngavie Town Hall fell through, and whether there is any scope to relocate the inquiry to Milngavie even at this late stage."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
