Jo begins summer tour 2010

August 9, 2010 12:21 PM

Following the success of last year's summer tour, Jo will be out and about in East Dunbartonshire next week listening to your views and taking up issues on your behalf.

Jo holds weekly surgeries where constituents are welcome to come along and discuss with her any issues which they feel she may be able to help with. Next week, however, as Jo embarks on her Summer Tour, Jo will be visiting locations throughout East Dunbartonshire every day to hear what you have you to say and what issues you'd like her to take up.

The full schedule of Jo's summer tour is available at www.joswinson.org.uk/summertour2010

She will visit various places in around East Dunbartonshire from Monday 16th to Friday 20th August. Anyone is welcome to come along at any point on the tour to chat with Jo, ask questions or discuss their concerns.

Commenting, Jo said:

"One of the most important parts of my job as an MP is holding my weekly surgeries, where I get to meet constituents on an individual basis, hear about their concerns and, hopefully, do something to address them.

"The idea of the summer tour is to extend that surgery time over a whole week. Last year's summer tour was a great success, and resulted in my taking up a large number of issues on behalf of the people who came to speak to me.

"I hope that people will feel they can come along at any time to talk to me, and perhaps I will also get to speak with some people who might never have thought of coming along to one of my surgeries before."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
