Jo encourages constituents to put the kettle on for cancer

June 30, 2010 11:04 AM

Jo Swinson launched the Blooming Great Tea Party in BishopbriggsMarie Curie Cancer Care's Blooming Great Tea Party, launched by Jo in Bishopbriggs, has raised over £1,348 for the charity.

Jo took part in a launch event for Marie Curie Cancer Care's Blooming Great Tea Party campaign at Bishopbriggs Asda earlier this month, helping raise over £1,348.88. The Campaign encourages people to set up their own tea parties to raise money to help provide nursing care and support for the terminally ill.

Commenting, Jo said:

"I really enjoyed the Bishopbriggs tea party and I'm delighted that we were able to raise so much for cancer care. I thoroughly recommend setting up your own - they are a fun and sociable, while raising money for a very good cause. You can find out more about how to do it at Marie Curie's website www.mariecurie.org.uk. The campaign continues until the 12th of July so there's still plenty of time to get involved."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
