Lenzie nursery flies the eco flag

May 14, 2010 4:17 PM

Jo and Scottish Lib Dem Leader Tavish Scott visited Merlwood Nursery in Lenzie to celebrate their new eco award.

Merlwood Nursery have been awarded a Green Flag by the Eco Schools programme, in recognition of their efforts to promote environmental sustainability.

The nursery teaches children to recycle, turn off lights and taps when not using them, and has even written its own Eco Song.

Commenting, Jo said:

"Last year I visited Merlwood Nursery when they won their Silver Eco Schools Award and I am delighted that they have now been awarded their Green Flag. They have made excellent progress since my last visit and the children sang me their brilliant Eco Song again.

"Congratulations to everyone at Merlwood for their all hard work to achieve the Green Flag."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
