Local business a clear winner

May 14, 2010 3:24 PM

Jo Swinson with staff at Filter ClearJo has paid a visit to Filter Clear - a Kirkintilloch-based business which has thrived despite the recession.

The company specialises in water recycling, and provides its environmentally friendly filter technology to businesses around the world.

Since Jo's last visit in 2009 Filter Clear has expanded its premises and taken on new staff, as it undertakes major new projects for Scottish Water, Canary Wharf, Museum of London and the Home Office, as well as projects in Morocco.

Commenting, Jo said:

"Filter Clear is been a real success story in Kirkintilloch, through what has been a very difficult time for our economy. It's great to see an East Dunbartonshire company finding so much success internationally.

"This is exactly the kind of entrepreneurship we need to drive the recovery - providing a service based on modern, green technology. We need to do everything we can to ensure that companies like Filter Clear can thrive in East Dunbartonshire, so that they can continue to provide the area with good, sustainable jobs for the future."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
