Jo welcomes Cameron support for YouTube campaign

Jo has welcomed David Cameron's newfound support for ending the ban on putting clips of Parliament on YouTube.
Jo has been campaigning for over a year to get Parliament to drop its ban on allowing clips of Parliamentary proceedings to be uploaded to YouTube and other non-Parliamentary websites. In a speech today on the redistribution of power in British politics, Conservative Party leader David Cameron signalled his support for such a move.
Commenting, Jo Swinson said:
"I am pleased that David Cameron agrees with my position that not allowing people to share video clips of Parliament on YouTube is ridiculous.
"A survey published three months ago by the Hansard Society showed that Conservative MPs are the least likely to have a positive view of digital media, so this sudden turnaround is a welcome surprise.
"I hope Mr Cameron will be urging members of his party to support my Early Day Motion 1104 calling on the government put an end to this nonsensical rule."
