Jo received a warm welcome from members of Baldernock Monday club

Jo Swinson joined with members of Baldernock Monday Club taking part in a 'chairobics' exercise session today. The weekly group meetings include exercises for the elderly participants, as well as guest speakers and discussions of community issues.

Jo said:

"Groups like the Monday Club give elderly residents the means to stay active socially, as well as helping them take what physical exercise can be managed. The group is a welcoming focal point in the community and I was delighted to meet its members during my visit today.

"There were plenty of issues that the group was keen to discuss, in particular the impact of rising energy prices. In light of rising fuel bills, many people, particularly elderly residents, are worried about meeting the cost of their energy bills when winter comes round."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
