Bishopbriggs churches join together for Pentecost

May 11, 2008 12:27 PM

Jo Swinson with Rev Iain Laing and Rev Graham FinchPress release from Bishopbriggs Churches together:

Almost 2000 years ago ordinary people, coming together for the Feast of Pentecost, were suddenly and dramatically inspired and empowered by God. That's how the church began.

For Pentecost Sunday this year, the Church of Scotland in Bishopbriggs was also 'together in one place', as on the 11th of May the three congregations packed Cadder Parish Church for a joint service.

Members of Springfield Cambridge and Kenmure joined with Cadder for not only a special time of worship, but also to mark the growing commitment to find effective ways of working together for the people of Bishopbriggs.

The ministers of all three churches took part in the service, and also present was East Dunbartonshire's MP, Jo Swinson.

Jo has been a valuable supporter of the churches in the town, and has also taken a keen interest in Cadder's bid to become an eco-congregation and in their promotion of Fairtrade issues.

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
