Jo backs Nick Clegg in leadership race

Jo Swinson has backed Nick Clegg to be the next leader of the Liberal Democrats. Commenting on her decision, she said:

"Both Nick and Chris are excellent candidates, and whoever wins, the Liberal Democrats have an exciting future ahead with a first-class leader. Liberal Democrat members are lucky to have the problem of having to make a difficult choice between two such talented, yet very different, potential leaders.

"Having impressed at the Scottish hustings and speaking to the nation on Question Time, I am convinced that Nick Clegg has the right qualities to lead the Liberal Democrats.

"Nick is dynamic, vibrant and brings an exceptional passion to his politics. He has the ability to connect with voters and excel in the Parliamentary arena, and that's why I'm delighted to be supporting Nick Clegg to be the next leader of the Liberal Democrats."
