Jo Swinson MP recently met with the congregation of Cadder Church to congratulate them on gaining full ownership of Cadder North Hall.

The former school house, which was leased by the church on a long term basis, had been the meeting place for a number of church and community organisations since the closure of Cadder school in 1980.

However, when the owners decided to put it up for sale on the open market, the future of the hall as a community asset came under threat unless the necessary funds could be raised.

After a mammoth fundraising effort, the new owners were pleased to welcome friends and family to a "hall - warming party" on Saturday 10th November.

After the event Jo commented:

"It's great to see that a vital asset has been saved by the hard work of the church and local community groups."

"I am sure that the hall will continue to be put to good use, and it was interesting to hear about the variety of plans the church have for its future development."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
