Douglas Academy welcomes back Jo

Jo Swinson with Douglas Academy S3 pupils

The S3 pupils have just begun their Standard Grade course in Modern Studies

Jo Swinson made a return visit to her former High School today when she spoke to a class of S3 pupils at Douglas Academy, Milngavie.

Some of the school's Higher pupils will see Westminster for themselves when they visit London next week.

Commenting after the visit, Jo said:

"Despite having only just begun their Standard Grade Modern Studies course, the 3rd year pupils at Douglas Academy showed a keen interest in politics and were full of intelligent questions.

"Modern Studies was always a favourite subject of mine at Douglas Academy and I hope to instill some of my passion for the subject into the pupils who are currently studying it.

"Pupils from the S5 year group will be visiting Parliament next week, and this will be an excellent opportunity for them to see the heart of British politics for themselves."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
