John Dickson stepped in to provide postal services at Poppies gift shop after Morrisons closed its Post Office counter

Jo Swinson joined Sub-postmaster John Dickson today, to celebrate two years since the opening of Bishopbriggs Post Office.

John Dickson stepped in to provide postal services in Bishopbriggs after Morrisons withdrew backing for its in-store post office counter. Petitioning against the closure of the post office counter, Jo collected some 4,000 signatures from local people.

Jo said:

"It is wonderful to be able to mark two years since the opening of Bishopbriggs Post Office under John Dickson's stewardship.

"Shortly after the opening of the Post Office, I called on local people to support the new business to make sure it got off the ground. I am glad to hear from John that the new service is doing well - the bureau de change in particular is thriving, which is good news with the summer holiday season approaching."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
