Jo praised Scotia ASC for organising the Gala

More than 140 young swimmers took part in Scotia Amateur Swimming Club's Inter Club Gala at Bishopbriggs Leisuredrome today, where they were cheered on by local MP Jo Swinson.

Members of Kirkintilloch and Kilmarnock swim clubs took part in the Gala, alongside swimmers from Scotia ASC.

Speaking after the Gala, Jo Swinson said:

"The sight of so many youngsters competing and enjoying taking part in the Gala was highly encouraging.

"It is so important that young people lead healthy lives, with plenty of physical exercise, and events like this can play a big part in that. Congratulations to all the swimmers and the organisers of the Gala."

A spokesman for Scotia ASC said:

"It was great of Jo to come along and give her support to the Gala. All the swimmers had a great time and really enjoyed the friendly competition from the other participating clubs."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
