East Dunbartonshire topped the UK-wide survey of the best places for families

Responding to the news that East Dunbartonshire has been placed top in a UK-wide Reader's Digest poll of Britain's most family-friendly areas to live, Jo Swinson MP said:

"I am delighted to see families voting East Dunbartonshire as their top place to live.

"A focus on strong community spirit, as well as high educational standards in local schools, is undoubtedly the secret of East Dunbartonshire's success.

"Local communities can be justly proud of the role they play in making East Dunbartonshire such a pleasant place to live, work and in my case, represent in Parliament.

"However, this survey does not only represent a success story. Many children and families around the country do not get the benefits of living in areas with high quality schools, low crime rates and access to green space."

Other areas in Scotland ranked highly by the survey included East Renfrewshire, in 2nd place, and West Lothian, in 7th. Reading was ranked lowest in the survey, at 408th.

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
