The spin-a-thon raised over £7,000 for BBC Children in Need

Jo Swinson has joined Provost Pat Steel to pedal their way to fundraising success for Children in Need.

The pair were among 30 participants in a fundraising bid that took place at Bishopbriggs Leisuredrome today, to cycle 300 miles - the equivalent of a round trip from Bishopbriggs to Fort William and Aberdeen - using spinning exercise bikes. The event ran from 10am to 7.30pm, with participants cycling in 30 minute relays throughout the day.

Jo Swinson said:

"Children in Need is really well established as a focal point for people's charitable endeavours up and down the country, and it is great to be able to play my part for such a worthy cause, along with so many others.

"Today's well run event was an excellent way to highlight both a collective effort, which is what helping vulnerable children should be, and a health and fitness message."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
