The event was the first of a series of business receptions being held across East Dunbartonshire

Members of the Milngavie business community joined Jo yesterday at a reception in Esporta Health Club, Milngavie

Those attending the reception, organised by Jo to improve her links with local businesses, listened to speeches by Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce President James Richardson and Membership officer John Corcoran.

Jo later commented:

"As East Dunbartonshire's MP, I want companies to know that I am keen to work with them to benefit the local business environment. Business and industry has always been a driving force in Milngavie's development, and the issues affecting local companies must be listened to and addressed in order to ensure the continuing health of the local economy.

"This reception, bringing together some of Milngavie's largest employers, was a useful and productive way to connect businesses to each other as well as to their local Member of Parliament.

I certainly believe elected representatives can and should work together with business in a spirit of enterprise and mutual success."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
