Exigo enjoyed privileged access to the House of Commons Terrace during their trip to the Young Enterprise UK finals

Exigo Designs, the Young Enterprise team from Lenzie Academy, have topped off their visit to London for the Young Enterprise UK finals with a tour of the House of Commons by Jo Swinson MP.

Exigo won the Production Award at the finals, and were immediately whisked off to Westminster to receive congratulations from Jo.

Jo said:

"Exigo have done exceptionally well to reach the UK Young Enterprise finals. My wholehearted congratulations go out to the team for their hard work and ingenuity.

"Last year's Young Enterprise competition also saw a team from Lenzie Academy, The Evolution, reaching the UK finals, so it is terrific to see another group from Lenzie keeping up the tradition of producing successful young entrepreneurs from the area.

"Having taken part in Young Enterprise during my time at Douglas Academy, I know how much benefit pupils can get out of being given the chance to run their own company."

Jemima Priester, Principal teacher of Enterprise at Lenzie Academy, said:

"The experience of reaching the Young Enterprise UK finals has been really exciting. We are very proud of what Exigo has achieved and being congratulated by Jo Swinson in the House of Commons made our trip to London extra special."

Exigo Designs specialise in designing and crafting timepieces, handmade from Scottish wood and finished with recycled metals such as brass and aluminium. Last month, the team triumphed in the Scottish Young Enterprise finals, winning the chance to showcase their designs and compete against teams from around Britain at the UK finals.

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
