Residents are free to make their views of Bett Homes' revised planning application known to East Dunbartonshire Council

Following the public exhibition by Bett Homes of revised plans for the Bearsden Academy site last Friday and Saturday (21st and 22nd of April), Jo Swinson MP has been joined by Councillor Julia Southcott in calling for residents to make their views heard through the planning process.

A revised planning application for the Bearsden Academy site was submitted by Bett Homes last Wednesday (19th April), and people can have their say on the plans by contacting East Dunbartonshire Council planning officers.

Jo commented:

"This exhibition was a positive step towards involving people in the changes taking place at the Bearsden Academy site.

"I would urge all residents who wish to comment on the plans to air their view to the Council planning department, who will take them into account as they assess the application."

Julia Southcott added:

"People have the right to lobby for or against elements of any planning application. I would certainly expect that residents around the Bearsden Academy site will want to exercise that right now that these revised plans have been submitted by Bett Homes."

Plans should shortly be available for viewing on the council's web site www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk. People who wish to find out more information or make representations to the planning department should contact: Partnership & Planning, The Triangle, Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs, G64 2TR, (Tel: 0141 578 8548) or e-mail partnershipandplanning@eastdunbarton.gov.uk.

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
