Jo has praised the fundraising efforts of staff at Riverside Childcare

Riverside Childcare in Kirkintilloch has been presented with an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Employer Supported Volunteering by Jo Swinson MP

Jo presented the Award on behalf of the Volunteer Centre East Dunbartonshire during a visit to Riverside Childcare today.

Under the Volunteer Centre initiative, employers actively encourage their staff to get involved in volunteering in a variety of ways such as participating in team challenges that benefit the community.

The Volunteer Centre was keen to give recognition to Riverside Childcare for all their efforts in volunteering from shoe box appeals, to fundraising, charity nights and more recently releasing staff to volunteer at CHAS - Robin House.

Commenting on the presentation, Jo said:

"I was delighted to present this award to Riverside Childcare. Over the 12 years that Riverside has been running, it has developed into not only a well established and successful nursery but also a prolific fundraising operation, with over £15,000 raised for good causes in 2004/05.

"My congratulations go to all the staff at Riverside, this award is just recognition of their hard work and achievements."

If you are a resident of the East Dunbartonshire constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
